UPDATE: THE AMB-OS SYSTEM HAS BEEN RESTORED!

UPDATE: MAY 16, 2024 - 4:30AM ET / 1:30AM PT:

The Amb-OS servers & AMR receivers now appear to be functioning normally.

Our technical staff will continue to monitor the system’s performance and make additional modifications as needed.

Although the Amb-OS system has been restored, we do advise checking to make sure that your radio station is not missing any audio files scheduled to air on Thursday, May 16. Depending on what programs are permissioned to your AMR(s) a local drive issue may have been precipitated by this event. If your AMR displays a drive warning on the front panel such as “Scandisk Failure” or “Hard Drive not detected” unplug the power to the unit for a minute or so and then reconnect to see if the fault clears after boot. Also, the following diskfix routine may be run to further check your unit’s drive:

1. Begin the test/repair process by tapping (for a second or so) the “RESET” button on the rear chassis while holding the front panel UP button - when the screen comes alive (the Amb-OS logo appears) then let go of the UP button. As an alternate process initiator you can unplug the power then re-connect power while holding the front panel UP button - when the screen comes alive (the Amb-OS logo appears) then let go of the UP button.

A message on the LCD screen will ask if you want to do the disk test. hit Enter button for yes.

The test will take about 20 min or so and will fix any bad sectors that show up.

The display shows current sector and % done and err count.

The test can be stopped at any time by hitting any button.

2. When the process is done, note how many errors were detected and then hit any button to reboot. The reboot will include the filesystem check to see if fixing the sectors did any damage to the AMR’s filesystem.

In most cases this process will not result in the loss of previous files present on the drive (it’s non-destructive.)

If anything appears missing or incorrect, or if drive issues persist, please email support@amb-os.com and provide your station’s call letters and the receiver’s serial number.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this outage and thank you for your patience!
