SES-2 Transponder 17 feed to end at 12 Midnight Eastern Saturday, 4/30/2016

As has been discussed in the previous posts below Amb-OS and all other CRC entities have previously issued commands to locked satellite receivers to make the frequency change from transponder 17 to transponder 7.  Microspace has informed us that the feed on transponder 17 (old frequency) will cease at 12:00 Midnight, tomorrow, 4/30/2016.  If your AMR-100 has not yet been changed to the new frequency (1317.550 mHz. see manual tuning frequency change document link in previous post below) it will cease to receive the satellite carrier tomorrow at midnight eastern. As is always the case, you may call our 24 X 365 helpdesk at 1-877-AMBOS2U (1-877-262-6728) or email support@amb-os.com if we can be of any assistance.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++The frequency change command as discussed below was sent to all locked RF AMR-100 receivers at ~17:15 Eastern today (4/11/2016)..Please refer to the documents below for manual frequency change details or for help in re-adjusting your antenna's x-pol or peaking..You may also call our 24 X 365 helpdesk at 1-877-AMBOS2U (1-877-262-6728) or email support@amb-os.com if we can be of any assistance.====================================================================================On Friday, April 1st, 2016, Microspace Communications (satellite provider for Amb-OS and other CRC entities) implemented a process that will result in a frequency change to our satellite signal.  The CRC carrier frequency will change from its current transponder 17 value of 4043.425 Mhz. (1106.575 Mhz. L-band) to its new transponder 7 location of 3832.450 Mhz. (1317.550 Mhz. L-band.)  The satellite (SES-2) and downlink polarization (h-pol) will NOT change nor will any other settings of your AMR-100 receiver.AMR-100 units that are being used to receive other CRC network feeds in addition to the Amb-OS programming will continue to function as normal after the move with no local changes.Microspace will dual feed the CRC carrier on both the old and new frequencies for the complete month of April to allow entities sufficient time to make receiver adjustments. On April 11th, 2016 at 19:15:00 Eastern, Amb-OS will transition from the old frequency to the new and we'll adjust our transmission schedule for that day so as to not be transmitting program files during the transition period. As the change is made we expect that your AMR will de-acquire and then re-acquire within a few seconds.  The new frequency command will be sent by us to your receiver from the Amb-OS head-end so under normal circumstances any manual change will not be necessary.  However, if a local manual change becomes necessary due to your AMR being offline when the command is sent (if you have spare AMR-100 units you may want to consider having them also connected to the satellite feed on April 11th) here's a link to the manual frequency change details on our support page:http://www.amb-os.com/pdfs/Freq_Change_2016.pdfMost receive sites should notice only slight differences in received satellite signal strength and quality after the move from transponder 17 to 7.  If your site observes a significant decrease in received Eb/N0 and/or an increase in BER (due to the move of the CRC signal to the more heavily-loaded transponder & increased x-pol energy presence) your receive antenna may need to be more critically adjusted for x-pol rejection and peaking of the signal. We’ve prepared an antenna x-pol minimization & peaking help document which can be downloaded from our support page at:http://www.amb-os.com/pdfs/Antenna_Peaking_2016.pdfAlso, feel free to call our 24 X 365 helpdesk at 1-877-AMBOS2U (1-877-262-6728) or email support@amb-os.com if we can be of any assistance.
