Land of the Free: An Afterglow 4th of July Special
Don Johnson, Producer/Host for the award winning syndicated music program Afterglow, has compiled an inspiring 50 minute special for this year’s 4th of July celebration. The program, titled Land Of The Free features a blend of vocal, choral, instrumental and narrative selections. Chip Davis and his Mannheim Steamroller is featured with America’s national anthem, “The Star Spangled Banner.” The unique voice of C. W. McCall spotlights “The American Spirit.” Don Johnson narrates the gripping story of Irving Berlin’s 1938 “God Bless America,” presented weekly for over a year on Kate Smith’s network radio hour. Ernestine Dillard, reaching notes most thought were impossible, sings the lyrics to this song in the most inspiring arrangement ever heard. Tom Dooley shares his remarkable story of three Civil War Brothers and their national impact. The Gaither Vocal Band’s uplifting treatment of “Let Freedom Ring” will cause your audience to clap, salute, wave the flag and sing.The program, titled Land Of The Free, is divided into three segments 18 minutes, 22 minutes and 10 minutes long.
